As soon as Petra Wagner returns from our clients, she disappears behind her “workbench” as she – tongue-in-cheek – calls her space between coffee-mug and laptop. For Petra is our project developer and project manager. It is only when the first high-flying ideas towards a strategy have eventually been implemented into viable measures and projects acc. to the client’s wishes that she is reasonably happy. Being responsible for monitoring and evaluating, she is determined to make sure that her approaches to work achieve the desired results. In her efforts, Dr. Wagner (who has a PhD in sociology) is able to capitalize on her experience in international cooperation (lasting more than three decades), commissioned by the Federal Government or by the private sector. Geographically, her focus and her network reach across sub-Saharan Africa as well as South Eastern Europe. In the period 1996-2000, Petra Wagner was responsible for the international projects of the Expo 2000 in Hanover where she looked after 20 of the 100 guest countries as well as five international organizations, including the United Nations. In 2000, she was the co-founder of AgenZ – an inhouse agency for political communication and strategic marketing by the “Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH”. Most recently, Petra Wagner worked as a GIZ-national director in Burundi and Madagascar. Her incentive: searching for solutions which enable people to take the next steps in a self-confident and self-responsible manner.
