Perception Study
Andreas von Schumann is head of the GIZ office for political communication in Kiev and the initiator of the study. Four years after the Euromaidan, the study takes stock of how Ukraine is perceived in Germany in the context of its international relations and internal developments, where its specific strengths and weaknesses are seen and what expectations are linked to the future of the country.Task
The Bureau fuer Zeitgeschehen (BfZ) – commissioned by German Association for International Cooperation (GIZ) – has written a study on the perception of Ukraine in Germany. It is the result of qualitative interviews with 44 German Ukraine experts from all walks of life – business, politics, civil society and culture.Conclusion: The Germans look rather skeptical and not very benevolent to Ukraine.
